Alibi Ceramics exists because not everything needs to be polite.

By day, I have a professional job complete with emails, meetings, filtering, and a considered voice.
In my downtime, I make small batches of ceramic pieces that release a week’s worth of filtering.

Every piece is made by hand in Devon.

Words are stamped directly into the clay before firing and glazing.

No mass production. No prints. No decals.

Some are funny. Some are rude. Some are uncomfortably accurate.

All are meant to be used, gifted, and only occasionally explained.

If you’re looking for tasteful, neutral ceramics for your grandparents, this probably isn’t for you.

If you’re looking for ceramics with opinions, you’re in the right place.

How are the pieces packaged and shipped? Each piece is carefully wrapped and boxed to arrive safely. Packaging is simple, protective, and gift-ready — no unnecessary extras, no plastic for the sake of it. If you’re sending something directly as a gift, prices aren’t included in the parcel.

Are these really handmade? Yes. Every piece is made by hand in Devon, stamped directly into the clay, then fired and glazed. No prints. No decals. No mass production. Small variations are part of the process and make each piece unique.

Can I send this as a gift? Absolutely. These are made to be gifted. Orders can be sent directly to the recipient, and pricing is never included in the packaging. Explanations are optional.

Will the wording look exactly like the photos? The wording will be the same, but because each piece is handmade, spacing, alignment, and glaze finish may vary slightly. That’s part of the charm, not a fault.

Is the language explicit? Some pieces contain strong language or adult humour. If a phrase might be considered inappropriate in polite company, it’s safe to assume it probably is. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask before ordering.

Are the pieces food safe? Alibi coasters are designed for normal use with hot and cold drinks. They aren’t intended for direct contact with food or drink.

Do you take custom orders? At the moment, Alibi Ceramics focuses on small batch releases rather than custom work. This may change in future, but for now the pieces are exactly as shown.
